"I can't really resist the temptation to use the phrase 'From little acorns great oak trees grow', but this has certainly been the case. Meetings are friendly and unpretentious and for me, have opened all sorts of doors. I can't recommend Little Acorns enough...
I joined Little Acorn Network last October; I'd just moved to Norfolk, didn't know a soul and decided to 'try anything'. I'd been to other networking meetings which I'd found intimidating; this was different - it was 'people like me', small business people and artists looking to widen their contacts and, as many of us work alone, stop ourselves going slightly mad.
A lot has happened since October. Through Little Acorn I met Maire Smith, a life coach and hypnotherapist, and hotelier Dee Dee Lomax who owns the fabulous Felbrigg Lodge at Aylmerton. Gradually, we came to realise that what we did singly was good, but what we could do together would be fantastic. We have set up Inspired Breaks, one and two day luxury experience breaks in north Norfolk. In a nutshell, I show you how to look good, Maire shows you how to get the most out of life and Dee Dee spoils you rotten. (Find out exactly what happens at www.inspired-breaks.co.uk)
For local people we have A Day of Inspiration - participants 'have their colours done' by me, take part in some intensive life coaching with Maire, and also enjoy a therapeutic massage by Sarah Woodrow of Stressuless Complementary Therapies - Sarah we also met at Little Acorns. A scrummy lunch is also included. It's a brilliant day out and some real 'you time'. We are having great success with this project and have been featured on BBC Radio Norfolk.
At Little Acorns I also met artist and singing teacher Teresa Verney, without whom I would never have moved my paintings out of the back bedroom and into an art gallery! Teresa and I had a joint exhibtion at Greshams School in Holt and I am now exhibiting at the Stable Gallery in Kelling and The Garden House Gallery in Cromer. So thank you to Teresa for giving me the push I needed.
I have also had many clients for Colour and Style Consultations as a result of presentations I have given at Little Acorns meetings.
